Timor Getaway Project: Experience the Beauty, Empower the Community, Protect the Environment

As part of our strategic initiatives, we successfully designed and implemented the TimorGetaway Project, an innovative digital platform that promotes sustainable tourism with a focus on Com Village in Lautem Municipality. The project combines technology, policy insights, community engagement, and capacity-building to enhance eco-tourism and drive inclusive economic growth.

Developed through close collaboration between Prospares Research and Consulting and Prospares WebTech, the platform integrates the expertise of both teams:

• Prospares Research and Consulting contributes deep insights into policy planning, local tourism dynamics, cultural preservation, environmental conservation, and community development, ensuring the project aligns with the unique needs and strengths of Timor-Leste.
• Prospares WebTech provides cutting-edge web development solutions and innovative digital tools.

The Timor Getaway platform offers:

• Eco-tourism accommodations, tours, and activities with a user-friendly interface for online booking.
• Integrated digital payment systems for convenience and accessibility.

Community Empowerment and Business Support

Beyond its technological innovation, TimorGetaway is committed to empowering local micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in tourism to be more profitable and sustainable. Key initiatives include:

• Business Management Training: Providing tailored training to help local businesses enhance operations, improve profitability, and develop inclusive tourism strategies.
• Inclusive Product and Service Development: Supporting businesses to create culturally relevant and inclusive tourism products, services, and marketing strategies that highlight local heritage and attract visitors.

ASEAN Blue Innovation Challenge (ABIC)

With funding from the ASEAN Blue Innovation Challenge (ABIC), this project emphasizes:
